Day 3 May 31

Hi All,
We are packed and ready to take off early in the morning. We even managed to pack the car.
Mom has been taking care of odds and ends. Richard and I have basically loafed around today.
We watched a Route 66 video this morning and our eager to get on our way. There are lots to see and do.
Nanette and Frank joined us for a great dinner of salmon.

There is nothing else to report today. Our next message should be from Kingman, Arizona.

Until Tomorrow,

Linda, Richard and Ella Ruth

Day 2 May 30

Hello All, M
We left Kristina's house about 7:30, stopped at the Kernville Airport restaurant and had a great breakfast. Some old timer was there and believe it or not he was raised in Piedmont and his father had been stationed at Alameda Naval Airstation during WWII. Small world.

The drive around Lake Isabella and past the Joshua trees was beautiful. Can't say much for the China Lake desert area.

Arrived at mom's and then went shopping. Our friends, Chris, Cathy, Jenny,  Jim, and children as well as Nanette and Frank came for a pizza party. A good time was had by all.

It is hard to believe we're almost ready to take off. Can't wait...

By for now

Day 1 May 29

Greetings to All,
We hit the road at about 7 am today. The drive to Kernville to see Kristina, Brian, Ella and Ethan was gorgeous (and I never thought I'd say that about I-5).  We reached Kristina's in time to stop at a market and buy some sandwiches.

The grandchildren are doing great and growing fast. Ethan is walking all over and loves to climb.

We plan on going to mom's house in Encinitas tomorrow.
